James Fox ~ Yang Family Tai Chi
James Fox is an advanced student of Grand Master Yang Zhenduo (4th generation Yang Family descendant) and Master Yang Jun (6th generation Yang Family descendant) and holds the title of International Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association Director Emeritus. As such, he is an official representative of the Yang family – the family lineage of the founding family of Yang style Tai Chi Chuan. He is a retired university professor from the State University of New York system, and has completed post-doctoral studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Huazhong University in Wuhan, China.
James has competed in China in each of the three International Invitational Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Tournaments held in five year intervals (1997, 2002, and 2007). In 2007, he won Bronze medals for each of the three events entered.
James is also a certified Qigong instructor and an advanced student of Grand Master Zhang Yuanming. He has mastered Fire Dragon Qigong, Taoist Medical Qigong, Baqua Medical Qigong, Wind and Water Qigong as well as various Qigong meditation methods. He integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, practice, and applications into his classes. His primarily interest is on practicing and teaching the use of Medical Qigong as a primary treatment modality for a range of chronic disorders.
